The Light-Framed Dressing Room

A bespoke dressing space designed with precision and soft integrated lighting.

Pully

Switzerland

Client Overview and Design Brief

As part of this master suite project in Pully, the client requested a fully custom dressing room connected directly to the bedroom and private bathroom area. The objective was to create a refined and highly functional space that would feel visually light, elegant, and perfectly integrated with the minimalist architectural language of the suite.

The client specifically wanted a transparent aesthetic rather than heavy traditional cabinetry, while still maintaining generous storage capacity and a luxurious atmosphere.

Project Objectives

• Design a fully bespoke dressing room tailored to the client’s storage needs
• Create a visually light and elegant atmosphere using transparent materials
• Integrate warm lighting discreetly into the cabinetry
• Ensure the dressing room felt connected to the overall architectural identity of the suite
• Maintain a calm, minimal, and highly organized visual appearance

Design Approach

Every wardrobe element was custom-made specifically for this project. Full-height glass cabinetry was selected in order to preserve openness and visual continuity throughout the space. The transparent fronts allowed the dressing room to feel larger, brighter, and more architectural.

Integrated LED lighting was carefully installed inside the wardrobes to softly illuminate the clothing and shelving while enhancing the atmosphere during evening hours. The lighting was designed not only as a functional feature, but also as an architectural element contributing to the overall ambiance.

Clean lines, warm oak flooring, and dark framed glass details were balanced intentionally to create a sophisticated yet restrained composition.

Implementation Considerations

The project required careful coordination between custom joinery fabrication, electrical integration, and lighting placement. Because the wardrobes were entirely transparent, internal organization and visual balance became especially important during the design phase.

Special attention was also given to the positioning of integrated LED profiles in order to avoid glare while maintaining even illumination throughout the cabinetry interiors.

Outcome

The final result is a calm and elegant dressing room that feels closer to a luxury boutique environment than a traditional wardrobe area. The transparency of the glass cabinetry, combined with the warm integrated lighting, created a refined and highly functional extension of the master suite.

The project successfully balanced practicality, minimalism, and architectural sophistication while remaining deeply tailored to the client’s everyday lifestyle.
