Client Overview and Design Brief

A professional with multiple businesses located in different areas, predominantly working from home. The client required a study that would be both formal and serious in appearance, while also offering comfort and a welcoming atmosphere.

Project Objectives

•Functional and Professional Design: Create a space that conveys professionalism while allowing for comfort and flexibility in a home office setting.

•Custom Woodwork: Incorporate custom-made wood joinery throughout the room to provide both functional storage and a sophisticated, tailored aesthetic.

•Comfort and Style: Ensure that the design is functional yet comfortable enough to promote focus and productivity.

Design Approach

•Space Planning & Layout: The study was carefully laid out to maximize productivity, with a designated work zone and areas for reading, relaxing, and storage. The layout supports both formal meetings and solo work.

•Woodwork: Custom woodwork was incorporated into the design to create storage solutions and add texture, making the room feel both sophisticated and inviting. The wood elements contribute to a clean, polished look while ensuring the space remains practical.

•Furniture Selection: We selected modern, functional furniture that reflects the client’s professional image. The desk and chair were chosen for comfort while complementing the formal aesthetic.

•Lighting & Ambiance: Soft, ambient lighting was used to create a comfortable atmosphere conducive to long working hours. Task lighting was carefully placed for optimal work functionality.

•Colour Palette: A neutral colour palette was selected, incorporating earthy tones and soft contrasts to ensure the space feels both professional and warm.

Implementation Considerations

•Storage & Organization: Integrated wood joinery allowed us to maximize storage without compromising the room's aesthetic, providing discreet spaces for office supplies and business materials.

•Ergonomics: The desk and chair were chosen for comfort, ensuring that the client could spend long hours working without discomfort. The layout promotes both movement and focus.

•Ambience: Although the space had to reflect a formal and professional atmosphere, soft textures and carefully chosen materials like the marble accent table and plush bench added elements of warmth to the design.
